Intro to the National Domestic Workers Bill of Rights and How We’re Going to Win

Languages: English, Spanish, Nepali, Tibetan
Room: 263 & 264

In July of last year, the National Domestic Workers Alliance worked with Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal and Senator Kamala Harris to introduce the first ever national Domestic Workers Bill of Rights. This bill builds on the successes and challenges of the 11 domestic workers bills of rights that we have won at the state and local levels since 2010.If passed, the national Domestic Workers Bill of Rights would address the remaining exclusions of domestic workers from federal labor laws, create significant new rights and protections for domestic workers at the federal level, and invest in implementation and enforcement to make these rights real for domestic workers across the country. In this workshop you will learn more about what provisions are in the national Domestic Workers Bill of Rights and have the opportunity to ask questions about the bill. Domestic workers and our allies across the country are mobilizing in support of a national Domestic Workers Bill of Rights. Join us to find out how you engage with this campaign and help pass this historic legislation!
