As individuals and organizations, we have a lot of reactions when facing conflict – we can avoid it, hope it will go away, or make it bigger without resolving it. The reality is that tension is part of any organization and we can miss so much if we don’t face it! When we understand the issues that are causing conflict, we can find that parts of our organizational structure need to change, that individuals in our organization need more support, or that there’s alternative directions besides the ones we’ve been disagreeing about. In this session, we want to explore ways to understand conflict, along with building our organizational skills and individual resilience to face it. Changing the way we approach conflict can transform its results, and potentially lead us to more opportunities for growth, organizational cohesion and stronger relationships.
