2020 Census: How to make sure our communities are counted!
Languages: English & Spanish
Room: 350
When the U.S. Census Bureau conducts a census every ten years, it determines not only the number of people living in the United States, it also determines political representation and allocations of more than $675 billion in state and federal funding to communities across the country. In the current political climate, with anti-immigrant attacks on the rise and a lot of confusion about Trump’s attempts to add a citizenship question to the 2020 census, a lot of communities are afraid to participate. In this workshop we’ll talk about why its so important that all communities take part in the census to be counted, and how your organization can get involved in the fight for a fair count!
