2020 will be a critical year for au pair organizing around the country. In Massachusetts, au pairs are finally getting the basic labor protections – including minimum wage – to which they have been entitled for years. But the fight is not over! In Massachusetts and around the country, au pair sponsor agences – often large for-profit corporations – are working to remove au pairs from these protections. Come learn more about the au pair industry, the au pair organizing that is already happening, and how your organization can be part of this fight. We will discuss how au pair organizing is important to broader domestic worker organizing and to campaigns for immigrant justice.
